Goodbye Socks!

Although there were moments that I doubted I would finish by the deadline, I did in fact finish the Sockapalooza 4 socks, and they were on time! Yay!

I haven't posted in ages, despite my intentions to post weekly. I'll see if I can do better in the future. So here we go with my official final post on the Sockapalooza socks for this round.

It took me a long time to decide on a pattern that would go well with the Silkie yarn that I chose. In the end, I chose the ever-popular Monkey socks by Cookie A. This was the first time I knit socks with this pattern and it went really well. The pattern was quite easy and the design looked very nice in this yarn.

As for the yarn, I really like it. The content is 81% superwash merino wool and 19% silk. Even though the wool content is superwash, the label indicates hand washing and I would most definitely agree with that. The yarn is incredibly soft and it makes for a very cozy sock. Perhaps because the plies are different fibers, there was a tendency for the stitches to be splitty now and then but it was quite noticeable and easy to fix when this happened.

I must say it was difficult to say goodbye to these socks, but I sent them on their way to my sock pal. She should receive them this week and I hope she likes them!

In my next post, I'll share pictures of the wonderful socks that my sock pal sent me!
